Is the national trade association representing apparel, footwear and other sewn products companies, and their suppliers.
AAFA's mission is to promote and enhance its members' competitiveness, productivity and profitability in the global market by:
1. Representing and pursuing the concerns of AAFA members before the public and the government to advance the association's legislative, international trade and regulatory objectives on issues such as sizing, care labeling, chargebacks, federal prison industries, flammability, product safety, social responsibility, quotas, apparel imports, apparel customs, footwear imports, Berry Amendment, Buy America, ergonomics and government contracts. 2. Communicating information to promote the apparel manufacturing industry, footwear manufacturing industry and other sewn products industries worldwide through trade shows, statistics, seminars and other initiatives. 3. Creating a favorable environment for the advancement/exchange of best practices and technological innovations in such areas as sourcing, design and fashion. |
